Our 11 Step Carpet Cleaning Process
At Voda Cleaning & Restoration, professional hot water extraction is combined with specialized procedures to improve soil removal, minimize cleaning residue, and help maintain the appearance and longevity of your carpet. The following 11-step process provides a general overview of the procedures that may be used during our professional carpet cleaning services.*
Pre-Inspection with Client
A detailed pre-inspection is performed to evaluate carpet construction, fiber type, soiling conditions, traffic patterns, stains, odors, and any existing damage. This assessment helps determine the most appropriate cleaning methods and identify conditions that may affect cleaning results.
Protective Shoe Covers
Our technicians wear protective shoe covers during the cleaning service to help maintain a clean work environment and limit the introduction of outside dirt and debris. This simple precaution minimizes foot traffic on freshly cleaned carpet and supports high-quality results.
Light Furniture Moving
Light furniture may be carefully moved as needed to provide access to carpeted areas during the cleaning process. Disposable furniture blocks and tabs may be utilized as appropriate to help prevent finish transfer, staining, rust marks, or moisture-related damage during drying.
Corner Guards & Wall Protectors
Corner guards and wall protectors may be placed in areas where cleaning hoses and equipment could contact finished surfaces. This precaution helps protect walls, paint, baseboards, trim, and corners from scuffs, scratches, and accidental damage during the carpet cleaning process.
HEPA Pre-Vacuum
A commercial-grade HEPA-filter vacuum is used to remove dry particulate soil, dust, allergens, pet dander, and other loose contaminants from the carpet if required. Additional charges may apply per treatment area. This process helps improve the effectiveness of the hot water extraction.
Spot and Stain Treatment
Areas containing spots, spills, or localized staining are evaluated and treated using appropriate specialty spotting agents when necessary. This process helps address specific contaminants while protecting carpet fibers. Additional charges may apply per treatment area.
Eco-Friendly Pre-Spray
A cleaning solution is applied to the carpet to suspend and break down accumulated soils, oils, and other contaminants embedded within the fiber structure. This process helps maximize cleaning effectiveness and prepares the carpet for more thorough soil removal during extraction.
Hot Water Extraction Cleaning
Using professional hot water extraction equipment, heated water and cleaning solutions are injected into the carpet and immediately recovered through high-powered vacuum extraction. This process helps remove suspended soils, contaminants, and cleaning agents from the carpet fibers.
Residue-Free Rinse
A neutralizing rinse is used to help remove remaining cleaning residues and return the carpet to an appropriate pH balance following the cleaning process. This treatment helps reduce rapid resoiling, supports long-term carpet appearance, and promotes a cleaner overall finish.
Carpet Deodorizing
Optional carpet deodorizing services are available upon request, and additional charges may apply. This treatment utilizes professional deodorizing agents designed to help neutralize lingering odors and enhance the overall freshness of the carpet following cleaning.
Post-Cleaning Inspection
A final walkthrough is performed with the client to inspect the completed work and discuss any outstanding concerns or areas of focus. This process helps ensure complete customer satisfaction and verifies that the cleaning results meet expectations.
*The carpet cleaning process may vary based on carpet construction, fiber type, level of soiling, identified contaminants, site conditions, customer requirements, and the operating procedures of the individual franchise location. Not every step may be required for every project, and additional procedures may be performed when conditions warrant.
